Sylandi Brown Recognized by the White House for Rural Leadership

In 2024, the White House launched a call to action for Americans to nominate Rural Innovators who are making a positive difference in their communities. After receiving hundreds of public nominations, 14 Rural Innovators were selected for their commitment to strengthening rural America, including Hawkinsville High School’s own, Sylandi Brown.

Brown was recognized for her work in Hawkinsville-Pulaski County, including her service to the Pulaski County Board of Education and the Hawkinsville-Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce. Rural leaders from across the nation were recognized for their contributions in areas such as education, economic development, broadband access, and health services.
